  • Do You Want to Settle Your Auto Accident Case?
I hear a lot of talk about taking an auto accident claim to trial by clients and other attorneys. What if you don’t want to? Some clients will say at the outset that they don’t want to go to trial, while others say a jury trial is how they want the matter resolved. The fact […]

  • Insurance Bad Faith: Current Law Protects Consumers
Insurance companies think immunity is good for them. No surprise.  Insurance companies and large corporations have been seeking corporate amnesty from the legislature for years. The court becomes the resolver, the arbiter, of the outcome. The court functions […]

Florida Truck Accident Lawyer

Trial Attorney

David Hughes Harris is a trial lawyer dedicated to excellence in advocacy on behalf of his clients.  He has been in active practice since 1995, and throughout his career has put his clients first, successfully representing those who needed a strong voice and aggressive attorney fighting for them when those clients were at their weakest and most vulnerable.

David is proud to have represented clients in the thousands, including those who have suffered serious injuries, catastrophic injury, and the families who have suffered the loss of their loved ones.

David’s depth of experience in representing the injured and their families extends from fighting for injured persons who have suffered brain injury, spinal cord injury, paralysis, herniated discs, broken bones, and other serious injuries and conditions, to representing family members who lost their beloved child, brother, sister, mom, or dad, to wrongful death.

From car accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, atv accidents, and slip and falls, to medical malpractice, product defect claims, to construction accidents, David Harris has been involved in some of the most challenging types of personal injury cases out there.

David launched the Harris Law Firm PA to bring his passion, principles, and advocacy for his clients to the next level.  “Putting clients first” is not some slogan:  it’s a fundamental approach to representing injured persons.  It means, for example:

  • being available and accessible to clients
  • open and honest about the case from beginning to end
  • seeking client input
  • answering questions
  • promptly returning phone calls
  • not taking a fee which is more than the client receives as compensation

Education & Background

David is graduate of American University (B.A. 1991).  During his undergraduate years, David served as an Intern in the United States Senate and thereafter as a Research Assistant in the United Kingdom’s House of Commons.  After graduating, but before law school, David was Field Director for the successful congressional campaign of James Greenwood, defeating a 14 year incumbent.

Attorney David Harris received his law degree from American University, Washington College of Law (J.D. 1995).  In law school, David was Co-Chair of the National Moot Court Team and Lead Oral Advocate in the National Moot Court Competition.

David Harris has practiced in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida before State and Federal courts.  He has been in continuous law practice since 1995.

As a dedicated trial attorney, David has had significant advocacy experience in both the public sector as an Assistant Public Defender and in private practice representing consumers.  He has tried cases to juries, judges, and arbitrators.

The Harris Law Firm currently handles serious personal injury and wrongful death claims throughout Southwest Florida on behalf of injured persons and their families.

David strives hard to the honor the tradition of the dedicated “Philadelphia Lawyer.”
